Musical Benefit Concert a HUGE success

Last night the Leave a Legacy Project hosted a Musical benefit concert at First Presbyterian Church in Brockvlle. A special thank you to local talent Chris Coyea, Alex Chateu, musicians and the 4 students from St. Lawrence College Musical Theatre program. The group also peformed along with the children of JL Jordan choir, lead by Angela Kelly. A special thank you to Angela Kelly (Grade 6 teacher at JL Jordan School) and the choir for working so hard in preparation for this event.  Thank you to all who came out to our event in support of the Leave a Legacy Project.

Last night the winners of the raffle were announced.  The draw was for 2 tickets to the NHL ALL STAR GAME and NHL SUPERSKILL COMPETITION. A very special thank you to the O'Grady family who gave both sets of tickets to be raffled off. We raised $2845 through ticket sales. All funds raised will be matched $ for $ by Let Them be Kids. WOW... OVER $5600 in play equipment from this fundraiser alone. Congratulations again to Tom Hare and Ed Bebee who won the tickets at last nights concert.

Our next event will be celebrity server on February 8th at Boston Pizza in Brockville.  If you come anytime from 5-8 PM, 10% of sales will go to the Leave a Legacy Project.

Chris Coyea Musical Benefit Concert

Tomorrow is the Chris Coyea Musical Benefit Concert at the First Presbyterian Church! You can buy tickets at the door if you don't already have them. Concert starts at 7:00 PM. We will also be doing our draw for the winner of first prize - 2 tickets to NHL All Star Game and 2nd prize - 2 tickets to the NHL SUPERSKILLS Competition! So please come out and support the Leave a Legacy Project!

DOTMOCRACY DESIGN DAY


January 16, 2012 will be our 'Dotmocracy' Design Day at the school. The students will be given coloured dots to show their preference for a variety of playground equipment. There will be large pictures of the equipment options. The students will vote for their favourite pieces of equipment by placing dots on the pictures. There will be fine tuning of the playground structure during the weeks to follow. A final design will be produced which is based on the most popular equipment and our budget.
The greater school community, including parents, grandparents and our school neighborhood will have the opportunity to vote on January 17, 2012.
What – Community Chili and Dotmocracy Event.
Where- J.L. Jordan Catholic School
When- Jan. 17, 2012, 3:30-5:30
What else- We plan to dedicate the playground to the memory of a fallen hero. This community member should have been in the Military or a First Responder. Nominations will be held at this event.

Volunteers

Thank you to all those who have signed up for build day, we have had 19 volunteers sign up in one day! That is incredible progress.  We have 41 volunteers signed up for build day and are always looking for more volunteers!  All time, talent and treasure will go a long way to making our community project a huge success.
